I Heart Checklists ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Jake as a sole proprietorship. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the I Heart Checklists application (the "App") available on web and iOS.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in using a third-party provider, we receive the name and email associated with that account.
Task Data: We store the tasks you create, including task text, categories, due dates, time estimates, urgency and effort levels, recurrence settings, completion status, and any notes or descriptions you add.
AI Learning Data: The App uses on-device AI to categorize tasks, estimate time, and learn your preferences. Category corrections, bucket assignments, and time estimate adjustments are stored to improve AI accuracy for your account. This data is not shared with other users or used to train models for other purposes.
Collaboration Data: If you use shared buckets or task comments, we store the content of comments, collaborator email addresses, and invitation records.
Device Information: On iOS, we may collect a push notification token for delivering reminders and alerts. We also detect your device platform (iOS, web) to optimize the experience. We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data.
Usage Data: We track aggregate usage patterns (tasks completed per day, focus session duration, badge achievements) to power features like Task DNA and productivity scoring. This data is associated with your account and is not sold or shared externally.
We use your information exclusively to operate and improve the App:
Your data is stored in Supabase, a hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) policies ensuring you can only access your own data. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest.
Transactional emails are sent via Resend, which processes only the recipient email address and email content. No task data is included in email payloads.
The web app is hosted on Vercel. The iOS app communicates with the same Supabase backend.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:
Your task data and account information are retained as long as your account is active. Deleted tasks are permanently removed from our database. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
